Since its beginning, TIMAC has always been concerned with respect for the environment.
In order to minimize our effect on the environment, many measures have been taken:
- in our industrial plants (air filters, dedusting systems, odour treatments
).
- by giving advice and offering farmers innovative solutions which meet their requirements in terms of yield, quality and care for the environment.
In 1999, as a reflection of its commitment, TIMAC signed an agreement named "Responsible Care", synonymous with sustainable development in the area of health, safety and environment.
Independent environmental monitoring of our industrial
processes shows that TIMAC achieves results in conformity with environmental rules and regulations and pursues minimization of its effect on the environment.
In terms of air quality, sophisticated particle removal systems reduce dust levels in our plants to less than 30 mg of dust per m3.
TIMAC also recycles over 300 tonnes of industrial waste every year and reuses all its raw material waste from production.
TIMAC has always aimed to use natural resources and raw materials as sparingly as possible by developing innovative products that correspond
to major environmental challenges. For example, a co-generation system to reduce energy consumption was installed in our industrial Estat plant in Saint-Malo.
Moreover, two of our factories are equipped with wood burners reducing our need for non-renewable enrgies.
TIMAC is developing an Environmental Management System ISO 14001 in its Saint-Malo factories. An Environmental Management System is a set of processes and practises that enable an organization to reduce its environmental impact and increase its operating efficiency.
